HR Independents (HRi) is excited to announce that two new Directors have joined the business to support our growth and plans for expansion.

Both Directors are existing platinum members and have been passionate advocates of HRi from our launch in September 2020.

Nikki Masterman and Charlotte Allfrey both run their own successful HR consultancy businesses.

About Nikki Masterman

With over 30 years within the HR field and qualified by experience, Nikki is well known to many HRi group members as supportive, professional, commercially astute and very no-nonsense.  Nikki has consistently made her mark in her career leaving behind a legacy of success in many UK companies before starting her business Inspired HR in April 2017 as a stand-alone HR Consultant.

Her business has continued to go from strength to strength, having grown from being just Nikki to now an employed team of 14 people plus many associates and moving to a group model in December 2021 due to their rapid success & growth.  Her model is unique to the market due to it having 4 arms covering HR Consultancy, Legal, Recruitment (Agency model) and Well-being Services.

Nikki said “I was thrilled to be given this opportunity and am very excited about the plans that HRi have to support the growth of HR professionals working independently in the UK”.

About Charlotte Allfrey

Charlotte set up Metro HR Ltd in 2014 to help small businesses deliver great HR with the intention of guiding, educating and informing employers of the amazing value an engaged, committed, rewarded and appreciated team can add to the bottom line by making high quality expert HR advice affordable and available in a flexible way.   She loves seeing the real sense of achievement employers can feel when they have a successful business, are rocking their HR and have employees that think they work for a great employer.

Charlotte commented “I have done a lot of work volunteering with the CIPD to support other independent practitioners in my region and HRi for me is a logical progression. An organisation that just focuses on HR professionals working in external HR or in a standalone capacity and understands the daily challenges faced.  I am very excited to be involved in the support for and development of the independent sector and truly believe a sense of community is important”.

Ruth Cornish, co-founder and Director added “HRi has quickly become embedded in the HR community as the go to organisation for independent and informed views and support for those that work independently. We have a big vision for the future and look forward to working with Nikki and Charlotte to achieve this”

HRi was launched on 30 September 2020 and offers a range of services to members that meet the professional standards.
