AskHRi Holiday, Maternity and Sickness Cover

If you need planned or on-demand cover for when you want to take a holiday, time out or are sick, HRi can step in. We understand that you may only want us for temporary assistance; that’s fine, we’re HR people and used to covering for each other seamlessly.

If you use our on-demand AskHRi Holiday & Sickness cover you will be able to pre-purchase credits for any potential client issues you’d like us to deal with. Or we can find a suitable qualified and experienced HR or People consultant to cover your needs. We are flexible and can offer levels of support to suit the needs of you and your clients.

Holiday, Maternity and Sickness Cover Options

Holiday and Maternity cover handover – We can provide this via our AskHRi helpdesk. Before you go away we will ask you to complete our handover sheet. You can name the clients that we will be supporting and share any background in confidence which will be stored in our GDPR compliant helpdesk. One named contact point per client. Any responses to your clients will copy you in. Please give us as much notice as possible and no less than 4 weeks.

Sickness cover for your retained clients – If you have registered for this service (by pre purchasing Holiday & Sickness Cover credits in the shop) and notify us via the AskHRi helpdesk that you are off sick (with the handover sheet completed where possible), we will take over and respond to queries from your clients via our AskHRi helpdesk.

Where applicable we can also refer your client to our legal partner, Freeths LLP, if expert legal opinion is required, as part of your holiday or sickness cover package.  Any request for legal assistance would need to go via the AskHRI helpdesk first.

On-site support – If you have a retained agreement with a client or are working on an HR or People project that requires onsite or remote presence, or you or a member of staff with HR responsibilities is going on leave we can provide cover and continuity by finding you a suitable independent HR or people consultant.  Please give us as much notice as possible and no less than 4 weeks.

  • To obtain Holiday and Sickness cover you can pre purchase AskHRi Holiday and Sickness Cover helpdesk credits in our shop. Each credit costs £35.00 plus VAT for members or £50.00 plus VAT for non members. It gives you up to 15 minutes of advice from an experienced HRi Consultant or an employment lawyer dependant on the issue. Please note that if we feel an issue required expert legal advice and we refer you to our legal partner, Freeths LLP, this will use an additional credit. Both are accessed via the AskHRi helpdesk. If the issue takes longer than 15 minutes, it will use up more than 1 credit.

Credits are not transferable to anyone else unless they are an employee of your business and named by you at the purchase point. You can transfer un-used Holiday and Sickness Cover Helpdesk credits to the following year but must use them within the first 3 months of that year and they must be booked in advance in line with our normal Holiday and Sickness Cover booking process.

  • If you would like us to find a dedicated HR or People consultant to cover for you in addition to support provided by the AskHRi helpdesk our charges are 10% commission for Members and 20% for Non Members.
