About this event
This event is for independent HR Consultants running their own business or stand alone HR professionals who are involved in grievance and disciplinary investigations.
What you will get from the session
We will be discussing Kate’s favourite interview model and how to practically apply this in a number of scenarios that HR practitioners face on a regular basis, the PEACE model of interviewing and within this:
- How to prepare for an interview – this includes case related, physical and mental preparation
- How to engage your interviewee and get their account
- Why challenging the account and gaining clarity is important
- Closing the interview and ensuring risks are managed
- Post interview actions

About the presenter
Kate Marston a CIPD qualified, former Detective Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police who went on to lead the investigations function at a FTSE 100 global luxury brand.
Kate’s first-hand experience as an investigator as well as time spent completing investigative certifications / interview courses and reviewing other people’s investigations means she has a wealth of insight and perspective to share.
